Our Open Day on Saturday, 14 May is an opportunity to find out more about what's on at Bullion Hall and try out some free Taster Sessions. Here are the free activities you can try on the day. Plus, the Wait ‘er While Café will be open for coffee, tea and soft drinks and snacks

In the Hall
10 to 11am Zumba with Jana Fitness
Zumba achieves cardio and muscle-toning benefits by combining fast and slow rhythms burning up more calories than ‘steady-state’ exercises, such as jogging. And it’s fun!

11.00 to 12noon Let’s Dance with Maxine Gowland
Charleston, Swing and Rock n Roll your way to fun & fitness. Low impact, easy to follow & a great mood booster so “Let’s Dance” our way to better health

12 to 1pm Boxercise with Simon Charlton
Boxercise improves muscle tone, balance and agility, and relieves stress. A Boxercise session uses your entire body for a full cardiovascular workout that burns lots of calories all in one workout.

1 to 2pm Tai Chi with Dave Robinson
Tai Chi is a martial art, combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements, helping to reduce stress, improve posture, balance and general mobility
In the Cabin

10 to 12pm Bullion Hall Sewing Bee
The Sewing Bee meets every Wednesday morning at Bullion Hall. Join the Bee and tutor Helen Fox for an introduction to sewing and making a spot of jubilee bunting.

11 to 12noon Clay crafts with Mama Jacks
Lisa Kenny set up Mamma Jacks to provide craft workshops across the North East and regularly works with groups at Bullion Hall. Join Lisa to make your own clay animals

12 to 1pm Way with Words with Steve Urwin
A popular performer on the Northeast live poetry circuit, join Consett poet and diarist Steve Urwin in the Cabin for a fun, friendly, informal session for anyone who wants to write creatively but doesn't know where to start. Steve is a published performer, passionate about wordplay whose work has appeared in a wide variety of magazines and has been broadcast on BBC Radio. His books include Shades of Grey (Red Squirrel Press 2009) and "So Much for the Sunshine" (Talking Pen 2013).

In the Lounge
10 to 11am Decorative panels with Alison Lowery
Alison Lowery a local artist who uses glass to create decorative pieces and jewellery. Join Alison for an introduction to making a decorative panel using Perspex.

11 to 12noon Patchwork Quilters
Cestria Patchwork Quilters and Crafters always welcomes new members, whether you are an experienced crafter or an absolute beginner who wants to try something new and fulfilling. Join the Quilters for an introduction to Quilting and sewing.

12 to 1pm Drawing with Bernadette Koranteng
Bernadette Koranteng is a local artist who teaches life drawing from her studio in Tanfield and regularly delivers art and craft workshops with group as Bullion Hall. Sharpen your pencils for this great drawing session with Bernadette

In the Activity Room
12 to 2pm Bullion Hall Ukulele Strummers
Learn to play a song in an hour with Richard Taylor from the Bullion Hall Strummers. No previous experience necessary as Richard teaches all you need to know to play a song on the ukulele
